Welcome!
Hi All!
As some of you know, I have recently started a second career as a Career / Executive Coach.
This is something that I have been wanting to do for some time but I didn’t know how to begin.
Last year was a turning point for me in my career. After over 20 years in managing Client Service teams, I was asked to take on a new role as a Global Client Service Transformation Lead. It wasn’t something I aspired to do or be, but management felt I would be good in the role given I had transformed my team in 5 years.
It was a difficult transition for me. I was managing a large team that I felt very passionate about continuing to move them forward. I didn’t have a lot of resources to do that but I was still pushing on. Management decided to merge my team and another team together which meant there wasn’t room for all of us to manage. There was a need for a Transformation person given we are creating efficiencies and aligning operating models across the teams globally. I was asked to take on this new role.
Going through the transition was very challenging for me. I turned to coaches, books, and articles to help me through. One book that was really helpful for me is “Everything is Figureoutable” by Marie Forleo. She speaks about not giving up on your hopes and dreams and even if things aren’t so great right now, you can go out and make things happen to allow your dreams to come true. Another great book is Mel Robbin’s Audible Original called “Work it Out!”. These amazing women have really inspired me to move forward with my dreams.
After a lot of soul searching, I decided I really wanted to become a Career Coach because I want to help others be successful. This was my whole goal while I was managing people. I was coaching and guiding them to be and do what they wanted to help them and the team be successful.
As I look back now on my transition, I think this change for me was a good thing because it allowed me to stop and think about what I want to do in the next chapter of my life. While I’m still pushing forward with my full-time job giving 100% and more because I’m still passionate about the team and the firm, I can now use my experience and talents to help others be successful.
I hope you will follow me as I pursue this new path and if you would like to learn more about what I do, please feel free to PM me through Facebook or email me at rene@upliftcareercoaching.com.
Here’s to your success!!
Best,
Rene
