Today we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. who left a legacy by his nonviolent struggle for civil rights in the United States. His legacy is something we can learn from as we continue to live our own lives and think about the legacy we want to leave.

I have written many times about inclusion in the workplace. It is very important to me as I want to see people being treated fairly. Organizations continue to talk about being inclusive, which is great to hear, but are we really seeing it in our day to day work environments. I still see and hear about many workplace issues around lack of inclusion.

Being a woman in the corporate world is still a challenge in 2023. It’s hard to believe that we are still fighting to be at the same level as men.

As I’m on my way to work this morning, I’m thinking about how far we have come in the last 3 years since the murder of George Floyd. It is unfortunate that it took this horrible murder to happen for us to realize that we needed to be more diverse and inclusive in the workplace.

Well after 3 years I am finally getting ready to publish my first book. I am beyond excited as I never thought I would get here but I did and you can too.

Have you ever gone for position that you knew you would be perfect for but didn’t get? We have all been there at some point in our lives. It hurts especially when we feel we deserved the position.
