Today we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. who left a legacy by his nonviolent struggle for civil rights in the United States. His legacy is something we can learn from as we continue to live our own lives and think about the legacy we want to leave.
How can organizations be more inclusive?
I have written many times about inclusion in the workplace. It is very important to me as I want to see people being treated fairly. Organizations continue to talk about being inclusive, which is great to hear, but are we really seeing it in our day to day work environments. I still see and hear about many workplace issues around lack of inclusion.
How can we bridge the gap between men and women in the workplace?
Being a woman in the corporate world is still a challenge in 2023. It’s hard to believe that we are still fighting to be at the same level as men.

As I’m on my way to work this morning, I’m thinking about how far we have come in the last 3 years since the murder of George Floyd. It is unfortunate that it took this horrible murder to happen for us to realize that we needed to be more diverse and inclusive in the workplace.
